AUGUST 21 – 22, 2012

 TINLEY PARK CONVENTION CENTER

TINLEY PARK, IL, USA

July 1, 2011, Lisle IL—The Central Illinois chapter of ASIS, the worlds leading association representing security industry professionals, has thrown its support behind the Midwest Security & Police Conference / Expo (MSPCE) set to take place at the Peoria Civic Center on August 23 & 24, 2011.

"Our members are really excited about our role in sponsoring and participating in The Midwest Security & Police Conference / Expo, and we hope to have a long term relationship with this event," says Chapter Chairman Timothy P. Sutton CPP, CHSS, who is also Facility Security Coordinator for Caterpillar Corp. in Decatur, IL.

The conference sessions sponsored by ASIS are, "Emergency Planning in a Hospital Environment…Lessons Learned from Joplin, MO", presented by Steve Wilder, President and COO, Sorensen, Wilder & Associates; "Food Defense", presented by Rich Ryan, Assistant Deputy Director/Corporate Security, Archer Daniels Midland; and "Crisis Management. What Can We Learn from the Japan Earthquake…High-Tech to Primitive in 90 Seconds", presented by Mike Claver, Superintendent, Emergency Management & Administrative Services, State Farm Insurance.

"We are extremely fortunate to enjoy support and recognition from the ASIS, Central Illinois Chapter. ASIS brings a depth of industry knowledge and represents a commitment to community and corporate safety that sets the standard for security professionals around the world," according to Chief R.T. Finney, CPC, (Champaign Police Department) President, Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police sponsor of MSPCE.

All thirty-seven education sessions and full access to the exhibit hall, featuring 100-plus suppliers, are free of charge to professionals working in public or private security, law enforcement or life-safety. On Tuesday Aug. 23, there will be a silent auction benefiting Illinois Special Olympics, along with a cocktail reception, sponsored by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police

The Midwest Security & Police Conference / Expo, now in its eleventh year, is being held in Peoria for the first time, relocating from its traditional home in Rosemont. It is expected that Peoria will offer a more user friendly environment than its big city, Chicago-land alternative. While just a two and a half hour drive from Chicago, Peoria offers convenient access for police, and security professionals working in downstate communities, businesses and institutions.
